UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson gave an enthusiastic message to Canadians celebrating their anniversary of confederation.

The message, published across the official 10 Downing Street social media pages, paints an accurate picture of the historical and moral ties that the UK and Canada share.

Johnson goes on to describe how Canadians go beyond being friends or allies, and states that Canada is the only country that the UK shares partnership in the G7, G20, NATO, the Commonwealth, and the Five Eyes.

Prime Minister Trudeau and Johnson have been known to be friendly, with the two countries seeking a free trade agreement.
