A Huffington Post journalist boarding a train at New York City's Pennsylvania Station harassed two men for drinking coffee aboard the locomotive without simultaneously wearing masks Tuesday morning.
The video begins with the journalist Sandi Bachom, wearing both a face mask and face shield, informing two men who were drinking coffee that she has "70,000 Twitter followers" as she recorded them, implying that she would expose their behaviour to a large audience.
A producer, Ashley StClair, was also on the train and recorded the incident. She stepped in to support the men, telling Bachom that "these men are just drinking coffee. They're allowed to have a mask off when they're drinking coffee."
"They weren't wearing masks," Bachom insisted.
Other passengers aboard the train at that point told Bachom to mind her own business, with StClair insisting that if she is so worried about catching coronavirus, she could simply socially distance away from the men rather than get right up in their faces.
"Social distancing. That's more effective than the mask so why don't you step back and leave him alone." Research indicates that social distancing is the best precautionary measure which can be taken to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
Bachom then became defensive, yelling at StClair that she is "not involved." She was joined in protest by a second woman, who was previously observing the situation quietly, insisting that the men should be wearing masks.
The conductor of the train eventually showed up to investigate the situation, with Bschom and her new found ally pleading with the conductor to do something about the maskless men. The conductor, however, had no time for the issue, and insisted that if the women did not return to their seats, he would call the police to handle the situation.
According to StClair, Bachom was heard after the footage ended insisting that she "cracked her head open chasing Nazis," and that she films QAnon believers for a job. No evidence exists to suggest the coffee drinkers believe in, or are even aware of, QAnon.
