WE scandal is proving detrimental to Trudeau's voter base

The Conservative Party of Canada is set to choose its new leader next week—a leader that could become the next prime minister of the country.

The Toronto Sun reported that Canadian voters are paying close attention to the WE scandal—a political scandal involving the Government of Canada committing to a contract with the WE charity in an effort to aid the proposed Canada Student Grant program.

Current polls reportedly show that with Trudeau and the Liberals losing voter support, the idea of the next prime minister being a Conservative is not a mere flight of fancy.

“Trudeau’s personal job approval rating is at its lowest since it was discovered that he enjoyed dressing up in Blackface regularly,” pollster Nick Kouvalis reported.

Only 30 percent of decided voters would choose to support Trudeau Liberals if the election were to be held right now, while 33 percent of decided voters would back the leaderless Conservatives, 18 percent would side with the NDP, 8 percent for the Greens, 7% for the Block Quebecois, and 4% for another party.

It was reported last week that Block Quebecois leader Yves-Francois Blanchet said he would motion for an election if Trudeau did not voluntarily resign by the fall. This is not an unreasonable suggestion as Quebec shows Liberals having 31 percent of the vote, the Bloc sitting right at 30 percent, and the Tories are inching their way up to 19 percent.

The Toronto Sun noted that Liberals lead in Ontario with 36 percent of the vote compared to 33 percent for the Conservatives. The Liberals are currently in third place in Manitoba, and in second place in Atlantic Canada, Manitoba, and British Columbia where the Conservatives currently lead.

It was reported by Campaign Research that 65 percent of Canadians approved of Trudeau's handling of the pandemic, but now that number has plummeted to just 47 percent. A measly 10 percent strongly approve while the remaining 37 percent somewhat approve.
