WestJet warns passengers of possible coronavirus exposure

WestJet Airlines has announced that some passengers on recent flights may have been exposed to people carrying coronavirus, according to CBC News.

The airline notified customers about the situation on Tuesday through social media. WestJet's website listed specific flights and rows that were possibly affected.

In the announcement, the company noted that passengers in these rows may be at risk as they are considered to have been in close contact.

According to the airline, public health officials recommend that people who were in the specified rows should self-isolate for 14 days and monitor their symptoms.

The company added that everyone on these flights is advised to self monitor for the common symptoms of the virus which include a fever, cough or respiratory issues. They said if symptoms show up in the next 14 days, people should call local health authorities.

There were 14 flights in total carrying passengers who tested positive for coronavirus. The flights took place between Feb. 28 and March 12.
