Why the hell would we trust the Trudeau Liberals with the Emergencies Act?

Why would we keep giving more power to those who have proven themselves incompetent?

At this point, it may sound like a broken record, but it still needs to be said.

Why would we keep giving more power to those who have proven themselves incompetent?

With the NDP calling on Justin Trudeau to invoke the Emergencies Act (a repudiation of previous NDP thinking on civil liberties—just the latest way Jagmeet Singh is undoing the positive aspects of the party), we have to acknowledge how absurd that would be.

As they say, the best predictor of future success is past performance, or in this case, the lack thereof.

So let’s review the "performance" of the Trudeau government.

There was a time for decisive government action. And that time was when the virus was spreading in China, and had not yet reached our country.

Many people—myself included—repeatedly warned that the government needed to stop flights from China and tighten control of our borders.

What did the Trudeau government do instead? They said that was "racist" and "bigoted," and said "stigma" was a bigger threat than the virus.

"Experts" such as Theresa Tam and Patty Hajdu repeatedly said the virus was ‘low-risk,’ and that it could be ‘contained.’

Hajdu even said border closures could "cause harm."

To this very day, flights carrying infected individuals continue to land in Canada, an absolutely horrendous hypocrisy on the part of the government, who are demanding Canadians be locked down and sacrifice our rights while letting foreigners enter at a whim.

Further, Theresa Tam—who happens to work for the WHO and Canada (something which obviously shouldn’t be allowed,) was focused on backing up the claims of the WHO at a time when the WHO was clearly being deceived by China.

Even Tedros, the head of the WHO, has had to admit that the investigation into the emergence of the virus was too quick to dismiss the idea of it coming from the Wuhan Lab, noting that China didn’t give nearly enough access. Unfortunately, it took over a year for the WHO to apparently realize China couldn’t be trusted, and at the most crucial moments Tam, Hajdu, Trudeau, and the Liberal government put their trust in the WHO rather than in the voices of Canadians who wanted controlled borders.

So, to all of a sudden decide that the very same incompetent individuals who failed so miserably, and continue to fail on everything from vaccine procurement to the border, should be given more power would be a huge mistake, and the fact that it’s even being considered is an embarrassment for this country.
