A man was shot and then hit by a car early Wednesday morning on Canada Day in Winnipeg, police are now investigating what happened, according to Global News.
Police have released little information on the victim so far beyond his age.
Around 2:27 a.m. emergency personnel was called out to the Balmoral Street and Cumberland Avenue following a reports of an injured 44-year-old man on the road. Emergency personnel found that the man had been struck by a vehicle and he was rushed to hospital. He remains there in critical condition.
Investigators spoke with the drive however no charges have been laid so far. Police later determined that the man had been shot, suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body, before being hit by the car.
