A 35-year-old woman from Port Angeles, Washington allegedly told authorities she identified as a teenager after being apprehended by Port Angeles Police for distributing marijuana to minors that she hung out with.

Despite explaining that she identified as a 15-year-old because teenagers "understand" her better, Amanda H. Dorrough was arrested for investigation of unlawful harboring of a minor, a charge that was later dropped and replaced with one count of distribution of a controlled substance. She was booked at Clallam County jail but has since been released on $5,000 bail.

Dorrough was taken into custody on May 4, the drug charges were brought the following day, and she made bail on May 14. She was adamant in identifying as a 15-year-old and had previously told an officer that she was also a boy. In the weeks that led up to her arrest, police received eleven calls alleging she had acted inappropriately towards minors.

According to the Peninsula Daily News, as part of her bail conditions, she is prohibited from coming in contact with anyone under the age of 18, including the teen she allegedly tried to sell drugs to. She is not allowed to come within 500 feet of school district property, or within in 200 feet of state, county, or city parks.

Prosecutors alleged that eight teenagers, some of whom were runaways, had planned on making a trip to Seattle with Dorrough. Many of them had previously been spotted at her apartment, where she gave them food, water, marijuana, and alcohol. Students from Port Angeles High School broke the news to Vice Principal Tiffinny Blore, who then contacted authorities.

One of the students who hung out with Dorrough told authorities that she had acted "kind of weird toward him" and was often "pedophile-ish." He explained that she had told him she liked him, and when he didn't reciprocate, she nearly killed herself.
