Israeli actress Gal Gadot called for peace amongst neighbours in a message posted across her social media networks on Wednesday.
Gadot, who served two years in the Israel Defence Forces as a solider, tweted on Wednesday: "My heart breaks. My country is at war. I worry for my family, my friends. I worry for my people. This is a vicious cycle that has been going on for far too long. Israel deserves to live as a free and safe nation. Our neighbours deserve the same. I pray for the victims and their families, I pray for this unimaginable hostility to end, I pray for our leaders to fidn the solution so we could live side by side in peace. I pray for better days."
The statement comes after over 160 rockets were launched into crowds of civilians on Monday. On Tuesday, another 130 rockets were fired, this time towards Tel Aviv and central Israel.
Gadot has previously been on the receiving end of anti-Israeli attacks. The Wonder Woman actress faced boycotts from social media campaigns, such as Lebanese group "The Campaign to Boycott Supporters of Israel," managed to get the 2020 blockbuster banned in Lebanon.
