York Regional Police have laid 20 new sex charges against a 49-year-old doctor in King Township, Ontario. The charges were placed against the doctor for alleged incidents spanning nearly a decade.
The doctor, Wameed Ateyah, worked at the Schomberg Medical Centre in King Township, Ontario, from 2008 to 2017.
York Regional Police said the man was originally charged with seven accounts in August after two women, aged 49 and 28, reported to investigators that they had been sexually assaulted by him.
Since then, 11 more alleged victims have spoke to police about similar incidents. One of the women was just 17 years old at the time.
York Regional Police say they are asking any more potential victims to come forward. They believe the man might have worked at other clinics across Ontario.
