First Lady Jill Biden was loudly taunted by unidentified bystanders on Wednesday, as she went into an ice cream shop in Connecticut.

"Your husband is the worst President we've ever had, you owe us gas money," one man shouted at Biden as she walked into the Arethusa Farms ice cream shop in New Haven, CT, with her Secret Service security detail.

"Thank you! Thank you for your support, thank you!" Biden responded, grinning and waving at the heckler.

Another man was heard shouting "You suck!" at the first lady.

Biden travelled to Connecticut to launch a summertime national learning tour to highlight students' educational setbacks resulting from the COVID-19 lockdowns. She joined Education Secretary Miguel Cardona and Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont in the classroom, reported Fox News. The tour is part of President Joe Biden's $122 billion "America Rescue Plan."

Gov. Lamont tweeted pictures from the event after Biden got her ice cream, but left out the heckling.

The first lady's visit came one day before the White House revealed that husband Joe tested positive for COVID-19, despite being fully vaccinated and boosted.

"This morning, President Biden tested positive for COVID-19," White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in a written statement on Thursday.

"He has begun taking Paxlovid. Consistent with CDC guidelines, he will isolate at the White House and will continue to carry out all of his duties fully during that time. He has been in contact with members of the White House staff by phone this morning, and will participate in his planned meetings at the White House this morning via phone and Zoom from the residence."
