Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) posted on Twitter that late Monday night while he was out of town, Antifa vandalized his home in Washington, DC, and threatened his wife and newborn baby.
Tonight while I was in Missouri, Antifa scumbags came to our place in DC and threatened my wife and newborn daughter, who can’t travel. They screamed threats, vandalized, and tried to pound open our door. Let me be clear: My family & I will not be intimidated by leftwing violence

"Tonight while I was in Missouri, Antifa scumbags came to our place in DC and threatened my wife and newborn daughter, who can’t travel," Hawley tweeted. "They screamed threats, vandalized, and tried to pound open our door. Let me be clear: My family & I will not be intimidated by left-wing violence."

This was no candlelight vigil, this was an attempt to terrorize @HawleyMO’s family, his wife & kids, and neighbors, you made that very clear.
This is what those leftist socialist anarchists want to do to this country, tomorrow Georgia gets a chance to reject them! https://t.co/9SQxe6bHlG pic.twitter.com/MBTsBRIeSf
A group named ShutdownDC, which claims that it uses "…strategic direct action to advance justice and hold officials accountable," took responsibility for the late-night harassment at the home calling it a "vigil." Police were called to the scene.
Now “vigil” means screaming threats through bullhorns, vandalizing property, pounding on the doors of homes and terrorizing innocent people and children https://t.co/naRMkrBWWO

Hawley said that the perpetrators were "...screaming threats through bullhorns, vandalizing property, pounding on the doors of homes and terrorizing innocent people and children."
ShutDownDC activist Patrick Young said in a social media post, "We came to let Hawley know that his actions are undemocratic and unacceptable. Voters decided who they wanted to be president and now Hawley is trying to silence their voices, even after Republican election officials certified the vote counts. And let's not forget that the bulk of the votes they would throw out come from Black and brown voters. This is an attempted coup waged by silencing the voices of people of color."
Tonight we dropped in at the home of @HawleyMO to encourage him to end his attack on democracy. Let's be clear, Hawley and his pals are doing real and serious damage to our democracy. And they're emboldening thugs like the #ProudBoys https://t.co/W5liUoi77u

Young is one of the main organizers of Shut Down DC that conducted demonstrations blocking roadways and even planned destruction and vandalism the night of the election in Washington, DC.
The group is affiliated with other left wing extremist groups and has previously stated that "...forcing Trump from office is the only way to protect ourselves and the people we love from Trump’s wrath, so we will act with the urgency that the situation requires” including with “disruptive direct action, mass mobilization, coordinated non-compliance, mutual aid, and other forms of civil resistance."
Hawley has been one of the most vocal supporters of President Trump and has voiced his intention to object when Congress convenes to certify the vote of the electoral college in January.
Millions of voters concerned about election integrity deserve to be heard. I will object on January 6 on their behalf pic.twitter.com/kTaaPPJGHE

Both houses of Congress will meet Wednesday to count the electoral votes and certify the election. Pro Trump demonstrations are planned in Washington for the same day. DC Mayor Muriel Bowser, activated the National Guard and banned firearms in the area in preparation for the protests and asked residents to avoid the downtown area.
Hawley said his objection will focus on "the failure of some states, including notably Pennsylvania, to follow their own election laws," as well as the "unprecedented interference of Big Tech monopolies."
In his statement Hawley cited, "Democrats in Congress objected during the certification of electoral votes in order to raise concerns about election integrity," in both the 2004 and 2016 elections and noted that, "They were praised by Democratic leadership and the media when they did."
Hawley is calling on Congress to launch a full investigation of potential fraud and election irregularities and enact election integrity measures.
