California Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom is expected to lift the state’s regional stay at home order Monday. This according to Fox 40 Sacramento's reporter Ashley Zavala.

Zavala, who is Fox 40’s State Capitol correspondent, said that multiple sources have confirmed the lift of the regional order and that there will be a return to the state's previous 'tier system.'

That means that most counties could see a return to the purple tier in the system, which would allow for the reopening of outdoor dining and some indoor businesses.

This is supported by CBS47 that claimed to have obtained a letter from the California Restaurant Association to its members Sunday evening that said,  “Late this evening, senior officials of the Newsom administration informed us that the governor will announce tomorrow that the stay-at-home order will be lifted in all regions of the state.”

According to CBS47, the news has not yet been confirmed by the state. A formal announcement from the Governor’s office is expected on Monday.

According to Zavala, the lift of the regional order was as a result of a promising outlook in the state’s four-week ICU projections, however those statistics are not available to the public. California currently has some of the highest cornoavirus cases, hospitalizations and death counts in the country despite the stringent restrictions.

Currently, the regions which are under the stay at home order are the Bay Area, San Joaquin Valley and Southern California.

Newsome is facing a well funded recall effort as well as multiple lawsuits due to his coronavirus restrictions.

The move to lift the stay at home order, would follow other Democrat governors across the country who began opening their states after the inauguration of President Joe Biden.

This is a developing story.
