All across the United States and Canada, gender surgeons are performing radical surgeries on minors who believe themselves to be transgender, and yet a surprising number of trans activists seem to be unaware this is happening.
A recently resurfaced Twitter exchange unearthed by Libs of TikTok demonstrates the lack of knowledge many far-left champions of so-called gender-affirming care have about what really goes on inside pediatric gender clinics.
In response to a tweet suggesting it is absurd to perform surgery that "disfigures the minds and bodies of children," prominent trans activist Alejandra Caraballo stated that was a "complete lie."
"No one is performing surgeries on children. That is a complete lie," said Caraballo. "WPATH advises against surgeries for under 18s."
Libs of TikTok replied by showing a cosmetic surgeon from North Carolina boasting about performing bilateral mastectomies on teenage girls who think they are boys. This is just one of the numerous examples of clinics proudly advertising such services easily found by anyone who cares to look.
The gender clinic at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) refers girls as young as 14 for medically unnecessary bilateral mastectomies, with co-founder Nadia Dowshen on record saying "age is just a number."
Boston Children’s Hospital will accept referrals for girls as young as 15 seeking "chest masculinization" surgeries, and will perform "breast augmentation" procedures, i.e. breast implants, for boys of the same age.
These procedures are offered despite the fact that a psychologist at the gender clinic acknowledges that a child’s gender identity can sometimes be "a phase."
Then there’s Dr. Sidhbh Gallagher, the Miami-based surgeon who removes the breasts of girls as young as 13 and advertises her services on TikTok and Instagram to a large number of devoted adolescent followers. Gallagher has been reported to Biden’s Federal Trade Commission for alleged false promotion of services to minors, but a formal investigation has yet to be announced despite numerous gruesome stories from her dissatisfied patients.
A total of 1114 American girls had their healthy breasts amputated in the belief that the surgery would turn them into boys between 2016 and 2019, according to a paper published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA).Not long after this Twitter exchange, the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) removed all lower age limits from its Standards of Care 8 as a way to prevent gender-affirming care providers from being sued.
