Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom have been allies for years, sharing the same governmental structure, legal code, head of state, and common first language since their inception.

CANZUK is a hypothetical trade deal that could revolutionize the relationship between these four commonwealth nations. In recent months, popular support for an agreement has swelled and has begun to catch the attention of the world leaders who could make it a reality.

Petitions in support of CANZUK have garnered signatures in the hundreds of thousands, Canada's official opposition has made it a pillar of their party platform, and as trade negotiations disintegrate between the UK and the EU, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has made his interest in free-trade agreements outside of Europe widely known.

The advocacy organization CANZUK International has been at the forefront of the growing movement to push for formal agreement. Recently, they were listed as an advisor to the newly created All Party Parliamentary Group On CANZUK in the United Kingdom.

Only time will tell whether the agreement will become a new 'pillar of the west' but the founder of CANZUK International and its Chief Executive, James Skinner believes that its momentum has made an agreement more likely than ever.
