A "Catholic Voter Guide" says that Democratic nominee for president Joe Biden's platform aligns more closely with the beliefs held by the Catholic church's bishops.
Based on 47 issues that "Catholics should consider when they vote," Biden was given a score of 38 alignments in belief, compared to Trump's 11 alignments.
Among the issues are criteria such as the candidate "avoiding war and promoting peace," to which Biden—who served as Vice President to the most drone-happy president in history—"aligns," and Trump is "Inconclusive," citing a tweet that Trump made to North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un about nukes.
The site also claims that Trump does not believe in fair wages, and that the president does not believe in combatting unjust discrimination based on ethnicity, citing Trump's condemnation of "unamerican" racial theory courses.
Notably, abortion, a key issue for many Catholic voters, aligns thoroughly with the Trump camp, and not at all with that of Biden.
The Catholic Voter Guide claims that it was created by "a group of theological authors and lay Catholic ministers to help spread the Bishop's document "Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship."
They also claim that "each contributor has a Masters Degree in Theology or Political Science."
The criteria for the site were laid out by the Catholic Bishops of the United States, which is not associated with the website.
According to PEW Research Centre, Catholics strongly supported Donald Trump in the 2016 election.
"White Catholics also supported Trump over Clinton by a wide, 23-point margin (60 percent to 37 percent), rivaling Romney’s 19-point victory among those in this group. Trump’s strong support among white Catholics propelled him to a 7-point edge among Catholics overall (52 percent to 45 percent) despite the fact that Hispanic Catholics backed Clinton over Trump by a 41-point margin (67 percent to 26 percent)," reported PEW.
Catholics voted for Obama by margins of 9 percent in 2008 and 2 percent in 2012, according to Fortune.
