Alejandra Caraballo tweeted on Thursday about Tate's comeback video to a misfired insult from Greta Thunberg, which featured a pizza box from a Romanian chain called "Jerry's Pizza."
"Romanian authorities needed proof that Andrew Tate was in the country so they reportedly used his social media posts," her post began. "His ridiculous video yesterday featured a pizza from a Romanian pizza chain, Jerry's Pizza, confirming he was in the country," describing the story as "absolutely epic."
"Not only did Greta Thunberg destroy Andrew Tate with her tweet, she made him so angry he inadvertently tipped off Romanian authorities of his presence in Romania with his lame comeback video," she followed with afterwards.
Tate had already revealed that he was in the country, tweeting a video clip on Christmas Day explicitly saying that he was in Romania.
After being called out on her lie, she posted an entire thread on Twitter justifying why she made up the story.
She explains how she read a "poorly Google translated" story from a Romanian news outlet that said that the Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) had used social media posts to establish that he was in the country.
"After I read this, I decided to check Andrew Tate's social media," she explains, noting that he had been banned from most social media in August.
She discovered the Christmas Day Romania post, but because there was "no indication that it was that day and not a reposted video," she kept on digging, eventually jumping to the false conclusion that DIICOT must have used the pizza box to discover his whereabouts.
Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan Tate were detained following a raid by Romanian authorities on Thursday. The two brothers are allegedly being investigated for human trafficking.
