This per sources at House Speaker Kevin McCarthy's office. Posobiec said that the Speaker's decision to release tens of thousands of hours of never-before-seen footage of the January 6 riot will make people "very happy" when they see what comes out in the next batch of clips.
Speaker McCarthy vowed to release all the footage, and the second batch of clips is set to be released as soon as the necessary security assessment is completed.
"This whole question about, 'Hey, what's up with the rest of the tapes?'," Posobiec began. "This plan about giving Tucker access first, this is something that I've known about since the second week of January ... This has been totally in the works."
Posobiec went on to explain that "there is a national security review going on right now with all of the tapes."
"It's all gonna come out," he said, before noting that there was one caveat. In order to protect certain people, it would go against the interests of national security to reveal how everybody got in and out of the Capitol that day.
"You might have people that are in cover that are going in ... you can't show every route that they take the speaker and the vice president, because there's safe rooms, and different areas, so they wanna be careful."
Posobiec stated that when it comes to footage of those who breached the Capitol, he had received intel from people close to the Speaker's office that "as much of it as possible is gonna be coming out."
"I think people are actually going to be very happy when they see what comes out," he concluded.
The decision to air the first batch of clips was celebrated by many on the right, who have long sought to move past the partisan January 6 Committee and see for themselves what really went on that day.
Speaker McCarthy said that the release is important for transparency as the events of that day, and the narrative spun about it by Demcorats and pundits, has and continues to have a huge impact on the nation and on political discourse.
