On Friday's episode of America Reports, Fox News host Sandra Smith cited a new Fox News poll that cites 75 percent of Americans are not happy with the country's direction under President Joe Biden.
"Americans are fed up," Smith continued, "according to a new Fox News poll it finds 75 percent of American voters are unhappy with the direction of this country, and a large majority say the economy is bad and that they see no sign of a recovery."
The Fox News poll is another in a consistent data trend showing a noticeable majority of Americans are unhappy with the state of the country.
In July, a New York Times/Siena College poll reflected the same outcome as 75 percent of Americans believed the country is headed in the wrong direction. The Times wrote that the poll reflected a "country gripped by a pervasive sense of pessimism" with a sense of national dread that "spans every corner of the country, every age range and racial group, cities, suburbs and rural areas, as well as both political parties."
In April, another Fox News poll had only 2 in 10 Americans thinking that the country was going in the right direction.
In May, the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Research found the same numbers as only about two in ten adults believed America was heading in the right direction or that the economy was in a good condition.
That same poll reported that 39 percent of adults in the US approved of Biden’s performance as president.
The New York Times/Siena College poll had Biden's approval rating at 33 percent and reflected that a majority of Democrats do not want Joe Biden to seek reelection in 2024 and only 1 percent of voters between 18-29 years of age "strongly approve" of Biden's performance. Accumulative poll data had Biden's approval dropping below 40 percent in February and the president hasn't peaked above that number since the winter.
Under Joe Biden the country has faced a four-decade-long record-setting high for inflation, an ongoing supply chain crisis, and a recession. His unceremonious 2021 military withdrawal from Afghanistan led to 13 American deaths and the Taliban taking over the country in weeks.
