The far-left "fact-checking" website Media Matters has asked Twitter to follow in Reddit’s footsteps to ban the word "groomer" from their platform, which they characterize as anti-LGBT.
Mia Gingerich, a transgender researcher for Media Matters’ LGBTQ program, wrote libelous profiles on three well-known proponents of the word “groomer,” each of whom use the term to criticize activist teachers who indoctrinate their students into radical left-wing ideologies.
The hit-piece opens with Gingerich citing an unfounded story about a woman who claims to have heard a single gunshot in her yard, believing it may have been related to her recent appearance at a Pride event. Gingerich refers to her imagined connection between the gunshot and the Pride event as an "attack" and a "violent act."
Gingerich wrote fabricated profiles of Dr. James Lindsay, a math PhD known in part for the infamous "Grievance Studies Affair" that exposed frivolous scholarship within university humanities departments, Jaimee Michell of Gays Against Groomers, who describes the organization as "A coalition of gays against the sexualization and indoctrination of children," and the popular account Libs of Tiktok, who reposts videos publicly shared by activist teachers that highlight the inappropriate nature of their interactions with students.
Gingerich asserts that their use of the word "groomer" is an anti-gay slur, and that those who use it are participating in a "targeted hate campaign," and without a shred of evidence, accuses them of driving "nationwide harassment and violence against members of the LGBTQ community and their allies."
But the term "groomer" has two meanings. While it is sometimes used to describe the process of adults initiating a sexual or predatory relationship with minors it can also be used to describe a process of indoctrinating naive children into cultish ideologies.
"It's terrible that Media Matters wants to distract from the grooming in our schools and entertainment by making it out to be about LGBT instead of Queer Marxist ideology," James Lindsay told The Post Millennial. "Most of what's happening is cult grooming into the sex and gender ideology cult of Queer Marxism," says Lindsay, who has done extensive research into Marxist-derived Critical Theories on his website, New Discourses, adding, "but there's sexual grooming too. Everybody knows it. They're trying to hide these facts rather than being part of their solution for some reason."
Gender ideology is a belief system based on the falsehood that whether someone is a man, boy, woman, or girl has nothing to do with one’s biology, but instead is determined by one’s subjective and undefinable "gender identity." Therefore, males can be women and girls, and females can be boys and men. Gender ideology also claims that a felt mismatch between one’s body and gender identity can be corrected by puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgeries. Critics of gender ideology describe the tactics used to lure youths into their belief system as "grooming."
Jaimee Michell responded to the Media Matters article with a letter posted to her Twitter that said, "Media Matters has attempted to do what many other woke organizations and publications have already tried, which is to paint Gays Against Groomers, a coalition comprised solely of people within the LGBTQ community, as an anti-LGBTQ group. Anyone with even just a few brain cells knows how absurd this accusation is."
