Newspaper suggests 'extremist Republicans' to blame for BLM activist charged with attempted murder of Jewish mayoral candidate

After Quintez Brown was arrested in Louisville on charges of attempted murder and wanton endangerment following the alleged attempted shooting of local mayoral candidate Craig Greenberg on Monday, the Las Vegas Sun appeared to suggest right wing forces may be responsible.

Brown is a Black Lives Matter activist, and his $100,000 bail was swiftly paid by BLM Louisville.

Despite this, the Sun writes that the attempted shooting "revealed the dangers of the talk coming from the right about civil war and political violence."

As to how a BLM activist's alleged attempted murder of a Jewish mayoral candidate could be pinned on right wing forces, the Sun said that "the shooting comes amid a rise in threats against politicians fueled by increasingly violent rhetoric coming from extremist Republicans."

While they note that Brown was "involved in the Black Lives Matter and gun safety movements" and that there is "no indication yet that he had ties to any right wing organizations," they posit that it's the GOP, and not the far-left activist and his ideas, that is responsible for the attempted shooting of Greenberg.

"We've all heard this with our own ears," they write, "Trump drawing cheers at rallies by suggesting violence his opponents [sic], GOP lawmakers and candidates trying ti whip their followers into a frenzy with talk of taking up arms against so-called forms of 'tyranny' like mask mandates, Arizona Rep. Paul Gosar posting an animated video showing him killing Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez with a sword, etc."

But Gosar did not enter Ocasio-Cortez office with a sword, or any weapon, or threaten her physically in any way. We haven't seen hordes of anti-mask protestors taking up arms and rushing politicians offices. Instead, we saw a BLM activist on Monday take up arms against a Jewish mayoral candidate. BLM Louisville bailed him out, and claimed that he "needed support."

The Sun notes that "Not all of these threats are coming from the right, but... most were." And they claim that this is not "a surprise given that so many members of the Republican Party are trying to normalize violent speech by routinely including it in their public discourse."

This in an article about a far-left, anti-gun, BLM activist who allegedly took a gun to the office of a political candidate and opened fire before being released on $100,000 bond posted by Black Lives Matter.

But, they say, because "the GOP has largely fueled this problem, it holds the lion's share of the responsibility for addressing it." And the Sun demands that Republicans condemn "any member of their party who promotes or suggests political violence."

"American leaders across the board must start speaking out, especially those in the GOP," the Sun writes.

Brown pled "not guilty," and has a coming court date of February 23.
