Nike has become the newest company in a growing list to receive backlash for its partnership with transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney.

Mulvaney, born a biological male who rose to social media fame by documenting the transition process, announced the new partnership Wednesday, according to the New York Post.

Clad in a Nike sports bra and leggings, Mulvaney can be seen bouncing around, swinging a ponytail and practicing Rockette-like kicks in a series of Instagram story posts that identify the partnership with Nike.

Response to the Nike partnership has been negative especially as Mulvaney has also obtained partnerships with companies such as Kate Spade, MAC makeup, and Tampax. Backlash has come from many voices within the social dialogue - political, detransitioners and females alike have noted that Mulvaney is blatently profitting from a sort of fetishization of the female body, and seems to be laughing in the faces of women who, for instance, use Tampax products because they menstruate - a biological function of the female body that Mulvaney does not and will never experience.

Many have voiced the opinion that what Mulvaney is doing is a slap in the face to women the companies that partner with Mulvaney are complicit in that.

Oli London, a detransitioner well-known for advocating against the dangers of gender reassignment and far-left trans agenda, took to Twitter in response to the Mulvaney-Nike partnership.

Evan Kilgore, a political commentator, also expressed disagreement and called for a boycott on the brand.

James Bradley, a California GOP candidate had similar sentiments on the partnership.

The Nike partnership comes on the heels of partnerships with Anheuser-Busch beer Bud Lite and women's designer Kate Spade. Those companies received similar backlash from the public.

Kid Rock posted his reaction in response to the Bud Lite partnership while Travis Tritt called for a boycott of all Anheuser-Busch products.

Whether this partnership was an attempt to capture a "woke" demographic or to placate trans activist groups regarding a 2019 lawsuit, Nike's decision has not been received well by the public.
