POSOBIEC: Juneteenth mass shooting in DC will be out of the news cycle almost immediately

"We'll argue and argue about things that happened hundreds of years ago, but we won't talk about things that are happening in our cities right now," Posobiec said.

On Monday's episode of Human Events Daily, host Jack Posobiec discussed the horrific irony behind children getting killed at celebrations of liberation after a deadly shooting occurred in Washington D.C. on Sunday at an event commemorating "Juneteenth."

"We'll argue and argue about things that happened hundreds of years ago, but we won't talk about things that are happening in our cities right now," Posobiec said.

Posobiec's remarks reflect the inaction of elected officials and their inability to address the skyrocketing increase in crime and lawlessness that is running rampant throughout Democrat-run cities in the United States.

The Human Events Daily host questioned the priorities of elected leaders and explained that while Americans argue over "Juneteenth" and whether or not it should be celebrated as the official date that slavery ended in the United States, American citizens are dying in the streets.

"We have these celebrations," Posobiec said. "And yet, we can't seem to do anything about our crime problem. We can't seem to do anything to actually help the people who are alive."

"We'll celebrate things that took place in the past. We'll talk endlessly about them. We'll debate about them. We'll argue and argue about things that happened hundreds of years ago. But we won't talk about things that are happening in our cities right now," the host remarked.

On Sunday evening, a shooting near the Moachella Music Festival in Washington D.C. left a 15-year-old teen dead and several others injured.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police Department said at a press conference following the shooting that four people were shot, including a police officer at an unpermitted event described as an "Advocacy Festival Amplifying the Culture of Washington D.C."

Chief Robert J. Contee III said that MPD officers recovered illegal firearms at the scene but have not yet recovered the firearm that was used to shoot the officer.

"I guarantee you this story will be out of the news cycle by probably the end of the week," Posobiec concluded. "It's probably out of the news cycle already."
