President Donald Trump is facing pressure to declassify the report revealing the extent of Rep. Eric Swalwell’s involvement with Chinese spy Fang Fang who was running the notorious sexual blackmail ring.
Conservative commentator Mike Cernovich questioned if Trump should release the full report given that the president has the legal authority.
The president's son, Donald Trump Jr., agreed "100%."
"Your daily reminder that Democrats spent 2 YEARS obsessing over Trump/Russia collusion (which didn’t exist), but now are ignoring the fact that Rep. Eric Swalwell was compromised by a Chinese Communist spy," tweeted former One America News Network host Liz Wheeler.
"There’s more evidence Eric Swalwell is colluding with China than there ever was against Trump and Russia," wrote the popular @thebradfordfile account on Twitter reportedly run by John Bradford Williams.
"Every time Eric Swalwell was on TV lying about there being evidence of Trump Russia Collusion he knew he had banged an actual Chinese spy. Think about that for a second," added another user.
"Swalwell was in bed with China while trying to impeach Trump. Let that sink in," pro-Trump Twitter personality @45FORLIFE pointed out.
According to the bombshell revelation report published by Axios, Fang Fang planted an intern in Swalwell’s congressional office and even participated in his 2014 re-election campaign. As a well-connected political operative, she ushered high-profile representatives and donors to political events.
Swalwell was eventually alerted of Fang's suspicious behavior in 2015, at which point his office maintains he had cut off ties with the woman in question.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation finally briefed congressional leaders on the details of Fang Fang's interactions with lawmakers, a national security source revealed Dec. 18.
The source confirmed that Swalwell was briefed by the FBI affirming that he slept with the Chinese agent who was reportedly under surveillance by the federal agency.
Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) lambasted the FBI for its "startling double-standard" by not affording then-candidate Trump "with the same courtesy" in 2016, "even though it possessed even thinner indications of cooperation with a hostile intelligence operation."
Cornyn differentiated: "The Swalwell defensive briefing was carried out by an FBI field office counterintelligence squad steeped in the tradecraft of Chinese intelligence tactics."
"Experienced agents know when an aggressive investigation of a U.S. citizen is actually justified or when a prudent briefing will suffice," he penned in an op-ed for The Hill. "In contrast, the Trump campaign investigation was led by a band of senior executives at FBI headquarters with wispy counterintelligence experience at best and pocketfuls of political animus."
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) declared to the press after the meeting that the discovery made it clear that Swalwell should not be on the House Intelligence Committee, Breitbart reported.
"I don’t talk about what goes on inside there, but it only raised more questions. The one thing that was fundamentally answered, he should not be on Intel," McCarthy said. "The one thing I know for sure, I had questions about whether he should, that’s the one question that was answered. He should not be on Intel."
