A retired elementary school teacher in Maryland is sticking up for a Georgia couple that was arrested on July 27 after authorities seized homemade child pornography that the couple produced using their two adopted children.

In a comment on the New York Post article, Laurie Kelly of the Montgomery County Public School District said that the adopted children could have been better off being sexually exploited by their adopted parents, than living in the environment that they were born into.

"I would look at where the boys were coming from. Maybe their birth families were worse in their physical, emotional, spiritual and psychological abuse," Kelly said on Twitter.

"The boys could have been better off with loving sexual relationships. (Main problem is when they grow up and want romance)," she added.

After reading Kelly's shocking comment, an individual slammed the former teacher's "disgusting" remarks.

"As a mental health professional, a mother and a decent human, this might be the most disgusting thing I've ever read on Twitter - and that's saying a lot. You shouldn't be allowed to be anywhere near children. You're sick," the individual said to Kelly.

Another individual chimed in and called Kelly a "groomer" to which Kelly responded and said,  "There's productive grooming and then there's destructive grooming."

"Open up your mind and heart. Walk a minute in the shoes of chronically abused kids and tell me which environment is better for them. Damned Karen," the teacher said.
