TIME article reveals 'shadow campaign' of collusion by big tech, media and labor to help Biden beat Trump

If it felt like big tech companies, corporations, union advocates, Democrats, the progressive left, and mainstream media were teaming up to squash dissent against a Biden reign, it's because they were.

If it felt like big tech companies, corporations, union advocates, Democrats, the progressive left, and mainstream media were teaming up to squash dissent against a Biden reign, it's because they were.

Nearly everything in the past few years, from the staging of protests, celebrations, social media censorship and suppression, the push for mail-in voting, and the demonization of Trump and his supporters was intentionally orchestrated by a cabal of people who believed that their need to grasp power was more important than a free and fair electoral process. These organizers hailed from the left.

These organizers were so secure in their knowledge that they needed to save the country from the democratically elected president that they undermined the entire electoral process, intentionally, with the full belief that they were doing what was right. Now that it's been done, they want us all to know about it, because they are so pleased with their efforts. It is a shocking betrayal of the democratic process.

Time Magazine's Molly Ball revealed "there was a conspiracy unfolding behind the scenes" during the final throes of election season, in which corporations, media, and the American left intentionally "curtailed the protests and coordinated the resistance from CEO's."

Yes, they are admitting it. There was collusion, conspiracy, and an "informal alliance between left-wing activists and business titans."

There was a statement, Ball writes, issued jointly by the US Chamber of Commerce and the AFL-CIO on Election Day, "in which the forces of labor came together with the forces of capital to keep the peace and oppose Trump's assault on democracy."

For Ball, this undertaking appears to be perfectly justifiable. The threat of Donald Trump was so severe for these budding authoritarians that they fully believed that any endeavour to undermine him, or his democratically gained power, was justified. Ball calls them "shadow campaigners," and indeed they were. This undertaking to dethrone Trump, and his supporters, was a bipartisan, establishment effort among Republicans who could never stomach the man or his MAGA crowd, and Democrats who wanted him gone.

On each side, corporate interests who also decried the uncouth movement led by the man in the red hat teamed up ideologically with their counterparts to decry him, suppress his advocates, and speak out against any and all of his policies, simply because he backed them.

These "shadow campaigners" didn't have to speak openly about their plans, instead it was enough that foremost in their intentions was the ousting of Trump, at any cost.

Voting systems were changed at the urging of Democrat lawmakers and mail-in voting was established as the only "safe" way to vote. Social media companies policed any opposition to the going leftist narrative that included a whole host of positions.

These positions included: COVID did not originate in a Chinese lab, face masks are necessary, lockdowns are so important that expressing opposition to them should not be allowed, racism is worse than coronavirus and protesting that should be allowed, protesting against lockdowns is racist, protesting against racism is not anti-lockdown, voting has to be done by mail because it's not safe to gather to vote, it's safe to gather to riot against racism, violent rioting is peaceful when it opposes racism, peaceful protesting against lockdowns are violent, Trump is a fascist, Biden is a nice guy who would never be involved in anything duplicitous, schools need to stay closed to protect teachers, and so many other positions that were aligned because they opposed Trump.

These are the same companies that willfully suppressed reporting on the Democrat candidates son because they feared it would have a detrimental result on their power grab.

Ball writes "They got states to change voting systems and laws and helped secure hundreds of millions in public and private funding. They fended off voter-suppression lawsuits, recruited armies of poll workers and got millions of people to vote by mail for the first time. They successfully pressured social media companies to take a harder line against disinformation and used data-driven strategies to fight viral smears. They executed national public-awareness campaigns that helped Americans understand how the vote count would unfold over days or weeks, preventing Trump's conspiracy theories and false claims of victory from getting more traction. After Election Day, they monitored every pressure point to ensure that Trump could not overturn the result."

So why did they do it? Because Orange Man Bad, obviously, there was no other reason for their madness.

Ball writes this as "the inside story of the conspiracy to save the 2020 election," and in defense of that claim, she said there were "never-before-seen documents and interviews with dozens of those involved from across the political spectrum."

She quotes one gentleman, Ian Bassin, co-founder of Protect Democracy, who said that "Every attempt to interfere with the proper outcome of the election was defeated. But it's massively important for the country to understand that it didn't happen accidentally. The system didn't work magically. Democracy is not self-executing."

Bassin believes that the election interference in which he participated was essential in order to prevent election interference that he suspected was coming from his political opposition.

Seriously, let that sink in.

Moreover, those who engaged in this shady undertaking "want the secret history of the 2020 election told." They want the American public to know the underhanded, sneaky ways in which they colluded. They believe that "they were not rigging the election; they were fortifying it."

These ideologues believe so fully in their own righteousness that they want everyone to know just what maddeningly abusive stunts they pulled to secure the election victory that they wanted.

Ball's story on this is nauseating to read. She details the determined fortitude of political operatives and corporate whisperers to manufacture a cultural atmosphere that would veer left. They actually believe that meddling in the election was the correct and appropriate thing to do.

And now they want us all to know about it. The audacity of these people to thinking that they know better than the American people who should lead is so far and away an atrocity and abrogation of the democratic process that it's hard to even fathom. Yet here it is, in black and white pixels, for any and all to read.

They colluded to influence the election and they are proud of it, because they "saw Trump as a dangerous dictator."

Ball details that the AFL-CIO's Mike Podhorzer pulled together a group of people to influence the election across culture, and that their stated intention was to coordinate media and corporate interests to peddle a propagandist narrative that opposed anything the president advocated.

They held meetings over Zoom, and these "meetings became the galactic center for a constellation of operatives across the left who shared overlapping goals but didn't usually work in concert. The group had no name, no leaders and no hierarchy, but it kept the disparate actors in sync," Ball wrote.

They believed that by interfering in the election, they were protecting it, because they believed that they knew better than the American people who should lead.

"Protecting the election would require an effort of unprecedented scale," Ball writes. "As 2020 progressed, it stretched to Congress, Silicon Valley and the nation's statehouses. It drew energy from the summer's racial-justice protests, many of whose leaders were a key part of the liberal alliance. And eventually it reached across the aisle, into the world of Trump-skeptical Republicans appalled by his attacks on democracy."

If it felt like the unseen forces of power were moving to collude against conservatives, stifle free thought and free speech, and unduly influence the election in underhanded, obstructive ways because they believed their goals of securing power were more important than a free and fair electoral process, it's because they were.

And moreover, they are proud not only of their process, but the result they colluded to obtain. They will do it again. They believe it is their right.
