Toronto BDS activist demands proof 'Free Palestine' is a call to destroy Israel, his followers oblige

In what can only be described as an epic self-own, Toronto activist Desmond Cole took to Twitter incensed by suggestions that the slogan 'Free Palestine' is a call for the destruction of Israel. He demanded proof or what he thought was a baseless accusation, his own followers obliged.

In what can only be described as an epic self-own, Toronto activist Desmond Cole took to Twitter incensed by suggestions that the slogan 'Free Palestine' is a call for the destruction of Israel. He demanded proof or what he thought was a baseless accusation, his own followers obliged.

"Why is free Palestine in your display name ugly motherf**ker, this Palestinian says we will be destroying 'israel' (sic) in the most violent ways imaginable" one user tweeted.

Another was more academic in his explanation: "Free Palestine" isn't a metaphor. The literal death of the settler-colonial regime - and yes, 'armed resistance' is required for a free Palestine."

"Wait what?" a third incredulous follower asked. "What else would it mean? Death to all genocidal apartheid settler colonial states. That should still not be controversial," leaving one to wonder what other 'apartheid settler colonial states' they call for the death of.

The series of responses was rounded out by a stunning degree of honesty: "Me. I said that. Death to Israel."

Antisemitism has grown rapidly throughout the year, especially online following the May 2021 conflict between Israel, and the terrorist group Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip. At time of writing, Desmond Cole has not commented on the proof his own followers have provided him.
