In light of the recent drone attack on the Kremlin, former president Donald Trump stated on Wednesday that he would end the war in Ukraine in "one day" if he were in charge.

The 2024 presidential candidate made the comments during an interview on GB News while speaking to host Nigel Farage. The two discussed a wide-range of topics that included the state of the US economy, the Biden administration, biological men competing in women's sports, and the Russian/Ukraine war.

During the interview, Farage brought up reports that had been released earlier in the day alleging that there was an attempted drone strike by the Ukrainians on the Kremlin. The conversation naturally led from there to discussion of the war.

"There's a growing, I sense in America, unhappiness about the money that's been given to Ukraine. Why does nobody talk about peace and peace negotiations?" Farage asked the former president.

"If I were president, and I say this, I will end that war in one day. It'll take 24 hours," Trump responded. "I know Zelenskyy well. I know Putin well. I would get that ended in a period of 24 hours. It would be easy. That deal would be easy."

"A lot of it has to do with the money," Trump continued. "A lot of it has to do with the military, ... but I would get that deal done within 24 hours. That war has to be stopped. That war is a disaster."

"I'm talking more than money, I'm talking about the human life," he added. "It's far greater than anyone thinks. You don't knock down a whole city and say two people got hurt. Thousands of people have been killed in the cities that are being knocked down."

"When you see those buildings just collapsing, thousands of people being killed that nobody's talking about, that war has to stop," he told Farage.

On Wednesday, it was revealed that there had been an alleged assassination attempt on Russian President Vladimir Putin by Ukraine the night before, which the Biden administration said that they received no warning of ahead of time. Details regarding the allegations have not yet been confirmed.
