"The Democrats should have never done it, the Supreme Court should have never approved it, and it's going to lead to horrible things for many people," he wrote.

House Democrats on Friday released former President Donald Trump's tax returns, prompting the billionaire to fire back at the "weaponization" of his financial records, reminding them that it is "a dangerous two-way street!"

The 2015-2020 joint tax returns for the former president and First Lady, Melania, are approximately 2,700 pages, reporting income from Trump's wide range of businesses and dealings in the U.S. and abroad, reported Politico. The release of the filings will undoubtedly launch another round of scrutiny as people dig through the Republican politician's records.

Trump slammed the Democrats' publication of his tax returns in an email blast.

"The Democrats should have never done it, the Supreme Court should have never approved it, and it's going to lead to horrible things for many people," he wrote.

The drop of the files finally happened after a 3.5-year-long legal battle, which ended in November when the Supreme Court decided in favor of the Congressional Democrats and ordered the Treasury Department to release them, according to Forbes.

"The great USA divide will now grow far worse," Trump continued in his statement. "The Radical Left Democrats have weaponized everything, but remember, that is a dangerous two-way street!"

"The 'Trump' tax returns once again show how proudly successful I have been and how I have been able to use depreciation and various other tax deductions as an incentive for creating thousands of jobs and magnificent structures and enterprises."

Other Republicans leapt to the former president's defense.

"The Democrats illegally releasing President Trump's personal tax records is a new low in the biggest political persecution of any President in history," wrote Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene on Twitter.

"Everyone gets to see how successful Pres Trump is & that he always followed the IRS rules. Now, turnabout is fair play."

Texas Rep. Mayra Flores also joined in, saying that people "should be concerned with those who gained wealth in office, not those that lost net worth."

According to a new Rasmussen poll released Thursday, voters are seeking revenge on the Democrats who released Trump's taxes, with 54 percent of respondents answering "yes" when asked if the incoming GOP House majority should release the taxes of Democrats who voted to reveal Trump’s taxes.
