TWO FACED FAUCI: Fauci now seeks proof of lab origins in remarkable reversal

"I would like to see the medical records of the three people who are reported to have got sick in 2019," Fauci said. "Did they really get sick, and if so, what did they get sick with?"

Dr. Anthony Fauci has now called for the release of medical records for nine patients who fell ill with COVID-similar symptoms prior to the pandemic. Six of these were miners who got sick after visiting a bat cave, and the other three were the researchers at the Wuhan Institute of Virology who came down with symptoms in November 2019.

Fauci gave an interview to The Financial Times on Thursday, saying that these medical records could provide much needed answers about COVID's origin, The Daily Mail reported.

"I would like to see the medical records of the three people who are reported to have got sick in 2019," Fauci said. "Did they really get sick, and if so, what did they get sick with?" He went on to ask "The same with the miners who got ill years ago... What do the medical records of those people say?" He asked.

"It is entirely conceivable that the origins of Sars-Cov-2 was in that cave and either started spreading naturally or went through the lab," Fauci said.

This was after a Thursday interview where Fauci doubled-down on the zoonotic origin theory of COVID, telling CCN that "there are several reasons why it's so difficult" to find COVID's origins. "One is that we need better access to all the information. I mean it's obviously in China's interest to find out exactly what it is," Fauci said.

"And the 'is' of the natural theory would be to find that link, so you have to keep looking for it. I mean obviously you want openness, and cooperation. One of the ways you can get it is don't be accusatory.

"Try to get both a forensic, a scientific, and an investigational approach. I think the accusatory part of it is only going to get them to pull back even more. We've got to do it in a combination of diplomacy, scientific, forensic investigation and do it in a way that the people of good faith, not who want to do blame, but people in good faith are really trying to find out what the origin is.

"And we're seeing a lot of, y'know, I don't even want to describe it, a lot of pointing of fingers, and things like that. Keep an open mind and go after the truth," Fauci said.

The emails that were released from a FOIA request led former President Donald Trump to slam Fauci in a blistering statement. "There are a lot of questions that must be answered by Dr. Fauci. The funding of Wuhan by the U.S. was foolishly started by the Obama Administration in 2014 but ended under the Trump Administration. When I heard about it, I said 'no way.' What did Dr. Fauci know about “gain of function” research, and when did he know it?" Trump asked.

The White House defended Fauci and praised him, calling him an "undeniable asset." This after Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests from Washington Post and Buzzfeed resulted in a massive cache of emails from Dr. Anthony Fauci. The emails, from the early months of 2020, revealed that Fauci was inundated with requests, suggestions, and offers of assistance from the medical community.

Fauci said early on in these emails that face masks are not helpful, received information that there was reason to believe the virus was engineered, and advocated early for school closures despite evidence showing that kids were not at high risk of contracting or spreading the illness.
