Responding to Doocy's question on why he wouldn't be visiting the border, Biden said, "because there's more important things going on, they're gonna invest billions of dollars in a new enterprise."
Biden answered a few questions before departing from the White House for the state. The president will be visiting the building site for a new computer chip plant in the Grand Canyon state. WEAR-TV writes that Biden "maintains that the factory jobs fostered by $52 billion in semiconductor investments and another $200 billion for scientific research will help to revive the US middle class."
"This is actually about building an economic strategy that goes beyond semiconductors," said Brian Deese, director of the White House National Economic Council. "This is a marked departure from the economic philosophy that has governed for much of the last 40 years in this country, which was a sort of trickle-down economic strategy."
Biden's border crisis, however, should be of higher priority, as border agents recorded 2 million migrant encounters recorded in the 2021 fiscal year.
2023 is already shaping up to be a record year, with a staggering 230,678 encounters being recorded in October along, surpassing the high of 167,837 seen in October of 2021.
