WATCH: Biden tells Fox News reporter that he spoke to Putin about him, reporters laugh it off

President Joe Biden said Tuesday during a press conference, that he spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin about Fox News White House Correspondent Peter Doocy, when the reporter asked him what his discussion with the leader earlier that day was about.

"Mr. President, what did you talk to Vladimir Putin about?" Doocy asked the President.

"You. He sends his best," Biden responded.

Reporters laughed at Biden's response taking it as a joke, though likely would not have if it were former President Donald Trump making the same comment.

Since the 2016 election, the Democratic Party and the mainstream media sphere has blacklisted Russia, repeatedly asserting that the country played an instrumental role in illegally influencing the election results.

Earlier this month, Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton suggested that a commission be formed to investigate if Trump worked with Putin to organize the storming of the Capitol on Jan. 6. "With you, Mr. President, all roads lead to Putin," Pelosi said.

Biden's remark of reporting a journalist to Putin, also follows a Russian government crackdown on protesters demanding the release of opposition leader and activist Alexei Navalny. Navalny claims he was exposed to a soviet era bio-weapon by the Kremlin. Biden said during the conference that he intends to order 100 million more doses each of the Pfizer and Moderna coronavirus vaccines, in a push to vaccinate the US population as quickly as possible.

"We will both increase the supply in the short term by more than 15 percent, an give our states and local partners more certainty about when our deliveries will arrive," Biden said to a group of reporters.

"These two steps are going to help increase our prospects of hitting or exceeding the ambitious goal of 100 million shots in 100 days," he continued, and added that reaching the goal was not the endpoint, but only the start.
