Conservative commentator Dinesh D'Souza explains on the latest episode of The Dinesh D'Souza Podcast how the Biden administration is flirting with fascism when it comes to its collaboration with Big Tech to censor opposing views on the COVID-19 vaccine and mandates for vaccination.
D'Souza starts off by explaining how fascism differs from Nazism. "Hitler's regime was in a sense fascist, but it added all these new elements, including a kind of systematic antisemitism or targeting of Jews that was not part of original fascism."
He then goes on to explain that there is a private sector in fascist regimes, which that private sector is controlled by the government. D'Souza adds that the private sector is mobilized by fascist governments.
According to D'Souza, this is now happening in America. "We're seeing this happen in America ... We're seeing the creation of, you could almost call it a shadow state," a term used by Jonathan Turley that defines when the government works with private corporations and with private media companies to do things which the government is forbidden to do, such as censorship and coercion.
The Biden administration's recruitment of private sector companies to impose coercive COVID-19 measures and to silence political opponents displays the classic early warning signs of a fascist regime, D'Souza elucidates.
D'Souza then refers to the Biden administration working with Facebook to clamp down on "vaccine misinformation." D'Souza paraphrases the words of White House press secretary Jen Psaki who said "collaboration with Facebook to get people banned for quote, misinformation or disinformation is insufficient" and that "there needs to be a comprehensive regime of censorship."
The Biden Administration is also "recruiting corporations to impose not just mask requirements, but forced vaccines," says D'Souza. He points to Morgan Stanley as an example, whose company head has stated that those who are not vaccinated will have to continue working from home, and may receive a pay decrease.
The desire to segregate society using vaccine passports is also something which D'Souza brings up, mentioning the comments by former Planned Parenthood president and current CNN medical analyst Leana Wen.
"Leana Wen was recently talking about how society should 'make it hard for people to remain unvaccinated.' So, she's talking about things like denying people access to travel, or to maybe eat in certain restaurants or movie houses, schools."
"So you can see here how the plan here is for the government to enlist ... the private institutions of society. The nonprofit sector, the corporate sector and then the media sector ... to collaboratively pursue this regime of coercion," D'Souza says. "What can happen here is that you have citizens who essentially don't go along, and they become non-persons. You can't work over here, you can eat over there, you can go see a movie, you can't express yourself on social media. So, you, in a sense, disappear," D'Souza continues.
D'Souza states that it may seem that he is being a bit cavalier in using the term "fascism," but he doesn't think it is cavalier whatsoever. "Fascism at its core is exactly what we are now seeing. It's an American form of fascism, but it's fascism nonetheless," D'Souza says.
A famous quote by former President Ronald Reagan is quoted: "If fascism ever comes to America, it will come in the name of liberalism." And according to what D'Souza observes of the liberal Biden administration, that may happen. Concerns regarding mandatory vaccinations and social media censorship of medical information that is not in line with the World Health Organization or national public heath is an issue which many countries, including America, are facing.
