On Saturday, Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene said she is "solidly supporting" former President Donald Trump in his bid for re-election at the Putnam County Republican Party's Lincoln-Reagan Day Dinner, where she gave the keynote speech.
"I will shamelessly tell you this one, I am solidly supporting Donald J. Trump for president in 2024," Greene said. "And I'll tell you why. I would give anything for mean tweets right now. Anything for mean tweets, because here's what I know they come with. They come with world peace. That's something we had under President Trump. They come with secure strong borders and a border wall that will be finished high, finish long and will be safe for America."
Greene went on to say Trump's tweets came with "supporting law enforcement and low crime. That's something we need to have.
"And those mean tweets come from one of the most successful businessmen I've ever known in my life and I love the economy we had under President Trump," she added.
Greene later said, "It's the America first ideas that I truly care about. I'm a compassionate person. Of course. I feel sorry for the people in Ukraine. I'm a compassionate person. Of course, I feel sorry for migrants, but I'm also a loyal person. And I'm the type of person, I care about my family and my friends, and I look at America as my home. And I look at all of you, I look at all Americans, I don't care how they go, what color they are, I don't care. That is my family and my friends and America is our house."
She said that she was "sick and tired" of American taxpayer dollars being "spent on everybody else."
"While our streets are covered with homeless people, our people are being murdered and dying and poisoned with drugs and our kids' education is gone in the toilet," she added.
The Georgia congresswoman said "It's time to be America first" and thanked Elon Musk for reinstating Trump and that she looked forward to the former president's return to the platform and first "mean tweet."
Greene also said Trump "has a list of the people that need to be cleaned out. And they need to be fired. And some of them need to be prosecuted in Washington, DC."
Former President Donald Trump continues to surge in the polls over other Republican contenders for president in 2024.Powered by StructureCMS™ Comments
