Fox News' Tucker Carlson mocked CNN's Brian Stelter during a segment on Monday and compared him to Tom Parsons from Orwell's 1984 after Stelter expressed frustration over the disbanding of Biden's Disinformation Governance Board.
"He loved the idea of the Ministry of Truth," Tucker said discussing Stelter.
"Why does he like that so much?" Carlson asked. "Then it hit us. Brian Stelter is, in fact, assuming he's a real person, basically lifted directly from the pages of 1984, the Orwell novel."
"In the novel, the eunuch is called Tom Parsons. Parsons works as a flack for the Ministry of Truth, and here's how George Orwell describes Tom Parsons," Tucker explained.
"As we read this, ask yourself does this sound like anybody who has a weekend show on CNN, quote: 'He was a fattish but active man of paralyzing stupidity, a mass of imbecile enthusiasms– one of those completely unquestioning, devoted drudges on whom, more even than on the Thought Police, the stability of the Party depended."
"We're not saying that's a perfect word-for-word description of someone who currently has a media analysis show on CNN," Carlson said facetiously. "We're going to let you judge."
