"That's saving lives? That's making this a better country? Beto O'Rourke sounds like one of those lunatics from Westboro Baptist Church who gets off making a scene."

Tucker Carlson ripped into Beto O'Rourke after the former congressman disrupted Gov. Abbott's press conference on the school shooting in Uvalde, TX.

On Wednesday, Texas Gov. Gregg Abbott held a press conference following the mass shooting at an Uvalde, TX elementary school.

During the proceedings, former congressman and Texas gubernatorial hopeful Beto O'Rourke stood up and caused a disruption, actions which Fox News' Tucker Carlson found to be completely out of line.

On Wednesday's edition of Tucker Carlson Tonight, Carlson decried the fact that after every tragedy, Americans are inundated with empty words from politicians who are only interested in delivering moral lectures.

"Beto O'Rourke, who's running for office again because he has no marketable skills, disturbed a press conference to berate Texas officials," Carlson said, adding that "he did this in front of the families of some of [Tuesday's] victims."

Carlson then shows a clip of O'Rourke shouting at Gov. Abbott and his fellow officials while they repeatedly tell him to leave, and that his actions are "out of line."

"Come on," Carlson said, visibly unimpressed. "That's saving lives? That's making this a better country? Beto O'Rourke sounds like one of those lunatics from Westboro Baptist Church who gets off making a scene."

"But that's essentially we've gotten to how to fix and prevent what happened in Uvalde. Please. Anyone who talks like this should be quiet for a minute and leave it to everybody else to figure out why this is happening."

O'Rourke was escorted out of the press conference by law enforcement.

The horrific attack at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, Tex. killed twenty-one children and two teachers. No motive is known for the shooting, which was carried out by a local 18-year-old who purchased the weapons shortly after his 18th birthday.
