On Wednesday, Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated that the White House has no plans to delete its Twitter account despite repeatedly criticizing the platform under Elon Musk.

Jean-Pierre was pressed on the subject by FOX News' Peter Doocy, who questioned why the Biden administration would continue using a platform it criticized so often.

"When are you guys gonna delete the White House Twitter account?" Doocy asked.

"Why would we do that?" Jean-Pierre replied.

Doocy reminded her that the Biden administration was, according to her, "keeping an eye on Twitter because it might not be a suitable platform," asking, "so why use it?"

"Look," Jean-Pierre said, "I want to be very clear here. The president has always said, and he has been very clear in his belief that it is important of social media platforms to take steps to reduce hate speech and misinformation … and so look, I don't have anything to share; any policy or any changes that we would be making."

"We have multiple platforms," she added, "that we utilize to communicate with the American people."

Doocy went on to grill Jean-Pierre on whether the Biden administration would try to shut Twitter down if they see anything they don't like, a move currently being considered by the European Union.

Jean-Pierre did not immediately say no, and her long-winded explanation did not yield a definitive answer either way.

"We very much monitor the news," she said. "Twitter's in the news a lot, and so that's what we're paying attention to; we're paying attention to what is in the news and what is being reported on the misinformation that's out there."

She went on to note that the NAACP, Anti-Defamation League, and public health leaders have been "very vocal about their concerns" as well.

"I would hope that all Americans, including social media companies … will agree that we need to call out hate speech and misinformation."

Members of the Biden administration, including Jean-Pierre and the big guy himself, have attacked Twitter and Musk following the billionaire's acquisition of the platform.

The president has accused Musk of allowing Twitter to "spew lies across the world," and said he wanted the purchase to be investigated over potential threats to national security posed by foreign investors.

Despite their criticism, the administration is still active on the platform, something Jean-Pierre made clear will not change any time soon.
