Missouri Democratic Congresswoman Cori Bush will attend a fundraiser on Saturday thrown by a Jew-hating activist who once tweeted she wants to "set Israel on fire with my own hands & watch it burn to ashes along with every Israeli in it."
Bush has spent years cultivating a relationship with pro-Palestinian activist Neveen Ayesh.
According to Canary Mission, a watchdog group which tracks anti-Israel and antisemitic activity online, Bush's relationship with Ayesh stems back to 2017. Bush has publicly condemned attacks on the Jewish community.
In February, Ayesh defended the terrorist organization Hamas and compared the group's attacks on Israeli civilians to Ukraine's war against "their oppressors" in Russia. She tweeted, "(people) somehow have an issue with Palestinians doing the same." The activist even expressed interest in joining Hamas, which has killed Israelis and Americans and other nationals. She's also supported the Iranian-backed terrorist group Hezbollah.
"I should join al-Qassam," Ayesh tweeted in August 2014, alongside a photo of armed Hamas militants. "Be the first female to join their group lololol #IdLoveToThough."
Ayesh has a long history of Jew-hating comments, many of which have been scrubbed from her social media pages. Ayesh tweeted in August 2011 that "being a Jew" is a crime "worthy of the rope" and several days later wrote, "Jews #WorstThingInTheWorld."
She said in September of 2013, "I tried befriending a Jew once. Worst idea ever."
Ayesh tweeted in February 2014, "I want to set Israel on fire with my own hands & watch it burn to ashes along with every Israeli in it." A month later she doubled down and wrote, "Once again I want to personally set Israel & all the Israelis in it on fire & watch them burn to ashes. Burn you bastards #IHateYou."
That same month she tweeted, "I hope I will be alive to witness the death of Israel."
In February of 2017, Ayesh compared Israelis to Nazis, writing it looked like Israeli Jews "miss nazism considering they nostalgically replicate&apply its values&model unless theres something I dont get w/ Zionism." That same year, Bush and Ayesh were photographed together during a trip to the Middle East.
Ayesh, organized a 2020 fundraiser for Bush that included antisemitic Michigan Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, and Linda Sarsour, the latter of whom was ousted from the Women’s March for antisemitic comments. The fundraiser, entitled "Muslims for Cori," is available on ActBlue, an online donation portal used by Democrats.
A Canary Mission spokesman told the Washington Free Beacon, "Neveen Ayesh has shown support for terror organizations, wants to kill every Israeli, and called being Jewish a crime worthy of the rope. Her anti-Semitism is publicly known information. It was even discussed on the floor of the Missouri House of Representatives. However, Cori Bush had no problem benefiting from a fundraiser organized by Ayesh and enjoys a long-standing relationship with her."
