Early Sunday morning, Seattle reached a grim milestone of its 50th homicide in 2020, this time near a victory celebration for Joe Biden in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. Over the summer, the city matched the total for all murders in 2019, which was 28 according to FBI crime statistics.
However, sources inside SPD told The Post Millennial, this was another example of police being prevented from reaching the scene of a shooting by BLM and Antifa activists as became so common this summer in the Capitol Hill Occupied Protest. The end result being that another black man was killed.

According to the SPD blotter, "Shortly after 1:00 AM, Seattle Police responded to reports of a shooting at that location. Upon arrival, officers located the male victim and began life-saving measures until the Seattle Fire Department took over primary care. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center but later succumbed to his injuries." Social media posts identify the victim as Marquies Patterson.

A source inside SPD told The Post Millennial that "This homicide occurred in the middle of a Biden celebratory block party… bystanders were assaulting officers and refusing to leave the crime scene which resulted in multiple arrests."
Seattle standard operating procedure requires police to secure a dangerous area before first responders can enter a site. Precious time wasted by rioters attacking police may have cost Patterson his life. A call can be heard on the police scanner of the first reports of a shooting and officers responding.

Almost five minutes later a call went out for all available units to respond followed by multiple units responding. Responding officers then begin asking for what sounds like "crowd control" and "Security for vehicles." Destroying police vehicles has become common place for BLM and Antifa activists. There are also reports on the scanner of "two detained" while a suspect is still being pursued. The suspect is described as a black male six feet, two inches, with jeans and a red hooded sweatshirt.

But the detainees appear to be related to crowd control not the shooting. According to the officer "…all units in the city were sent to 10th and Pine for a shooting, no other details. They got on scene and it was a shooting that happened during the Biden celebration block party. Officers couldn’t even begin life saving measures on the victim because they were being harassed and assaulted by the crowd." Crowd noise can be heard behind officers on the scanner as officers call for more help.

First responders needing to get to Harborview Medical Center can be heard on the recording long after they should have been en-route. From the scanner it appears that the crowd delayed first responders. This could have possibly contributed to the death of the victim.

The SPD contact was wondering why none of the Seattle local news was covering this event even though the audio of the scanner is publicly available.
"I've checked every news outlet and there isn't a peep about it anywhere… Why is this homicide not covered in a single media outlet today? Because it was at a Biden celebration? Which COVID doesn't effect I guess…"
According to SPD "This remains an active and on-going investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Seattle Police Department's Violent Crimes tip line at (206) 233-5000."
