Seattle's Democrat and socialist politicians who marched with rioters last summer and supported an armed occupation of the city by activists, are now condemning the riot at the Capitol in Washington, DC.
Marxist Seattle City Council Member Kshama Sawant tweeted on Thursday, "The far-right mob that took over the Capitol never would have gotten past the front door if federal police hadn’t allowed them to storm in. The simple fact is that left-wing protesters get treated with brutality, while right-wing protesters get coddled."
The outrage on Seattle's streets today represents the deep community anger about police violence on top of profound & longstanding suffering because the political establishment has failed to meet basic needs of working people before & during this crisis.#JusticeForGeorgeFloyd
— Kshama Sawant (@cmkshama) May 31, 2020
Sawant championed a fifty percent defunding of the Seattle Police and marched with rioters in Seattle against Police officers. Sawant and her staff were active in the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ) and even set up booth in the center of it to push her "Tax Amazon" initiative.
Sawant used her own key to open to doors of Seattle City Hall to hundreds of the extremists, so that they could "occupy" the building during the armed occupation of a Seattle neighborhood in Sawant's district.

Despite their mayor @MayorJenny being beyond progressive
They are demanding she resign since she won’t defund the Police
This is the new normal in big cities of America

Once the crowd had gathered in city hall, Sawant began to speak about imposing a tax on Amazon, not Black Lives Matter and racism, which led to her being booed by the crowd. They accused Sawant of using the rally for her own political means and quickly turned on her.
Man, it would be really hilarious if we had hours of video saved of your attempted takeover of Seattle's City Hall and Government, while talking about "Defunding The Police". https://t.co/DAxvjOSddb pic.twitter.com/lPnWs5aVMl

Socialist Council Member Teresa Mosqueda, is a longtime supporter of Antifa, and has even dressed her child in Antifa t-shirts.

She joined Sawant in promoting the defunding of the SPD, and yet tweeted support for "public servants" during the Capitol riot and an end to the violence
I’m thinking of the lives, health and safety of all of public servants - I appreciate you and thank you for working for a better future.
— Councilmember Teresa Mosqueda (@CMTMosqueda) January 6, 2021
This violence must stop.
These actions must be condemned to the fullest extent by all.
Our country must heal.
In June, during her live stream while participating in a Seattle riot, a man Mosqueda was interviewing said: "SPD, I need you to do me a favor. Take your guns, put them onto your chins, and pull the trigger," the man yelled.
Man shouts to @SeattlePD "Take your guns, put them onto your chins and pull the trigger. I need you to kill yourselves," while Seattle CM @CMTMosqueda says "the anger is justified" & King County CM @GirmayZahilay says "I've seen nothing but peaceful people out here." "I need you to kill yourselves. That’s your only redemption. Go ahead, save us the trouble of tearing you apart and *****ing kill yourselves. Did I stutter? I said ‘k-k-k-kill yourselves. ****ing kill yourselves. It’s the only chance you have left to do something good for the world and that’s remove yourself from it…" Mosqueda did not challenge him on the comments and instead answered. "The anger that you hear is justified."

Mosqueda justified the riots and falsely claimed during the video meeting that "The very thing that everybody was protesting, excessive police force, was met by a militarized response. Yes, it was stoked by the President, and yes, it was stoked by others, but it was carried out right in our city."
Earlier in June, in a video council meeting about the riots, Socialist Council Member Tammy Morales said she can’t figure out "why looting bothers people" when "people die everyday."
Seattle Councilmember Says She Can’t Figure Out Why ‘Looting Bothers People’ When People Are ‘Dying Every Day’ https://t.co/nUMssDzJOq

"...what I don't want to hear is for our constituents to be told to be civil, not to be reactionary, to be told looting doesn't solve anything. It does make me wonder and ask the question why looting bothers people so much more than knowing that across the country, black men and women are dying every day, and far too often at the hands of those who are sworn to protect and serve," said Morales.
During the Capitol riot, Morales retweeted "White Americans aren't afraid of the cops. White Americans are never afraid of the cops even when they are committing an insurrection."

On her personal account she compared the Capitol riots to Pearl Harbor. "The US Capitol is on lockdown because the President of the United States called for mob rule against our democratic process. A day that will live in infamy."

Democrat Council Member Lisa Herbold supported the riots this summer in the city and did nothing to help the businesses and residents trapped inside the CHAZ. She was a staunch supporter of defunding the Seattle police and one of its earliest advocates yet has no problem calling the police to protect her own home, even reaching out to the Chief of Police.
Yet Herbold tweeted regarding the Capitol riots "This is not patriotism, this is tyranny. Neither violence nor the threat to personal safety will be accepted as the norm. The work of those involved in a hostile takeover doesn’t represent the majority of American people. And this terrorist coup attempt will not stand."

Freshman council member Andrew Lewis tweeted out during the Capitol riot, "Not for nothing, but the 'Back the Blue' president has done more today to put police officers in danger of grave physical harm than any other American politician."

Lewis proposed the legislation to defund departments in the SPD and replace them with social workers which has led to a massive spike in crime. A social worker was even murdered by one of her homeless clients while the council was passing the legislation.
Lewis who claimed to be concerned about police officers on January 6, posted a selfie of himself and fellow council members at the front lines of a riot against Seattle police officers at the East Precinct before it was turned over to the mob and became the epicenter of the CHAZ.

While the Capitol riot was in progress, Lewis tweeted about meeting with the Seattle Every Day March, who have been part of local uprisings.
This summer I was visited by Seattle Every Day March multiple times. We don't always agree, but those meetings were respectful and facilitated by passionate young people seeking to change the world.

What we are seeing in DC isn't activism, it is unconstitutional insurrection.
In a recent interview, Seattle City Council President Lorena Gonzalez, who presided over the city being thrust into national and international headlines for nightly riots, spiking crime, defunding the police and an armed occupation of a neighborhood, defended the council’s actions and even blamed the city's crime on COVID.
She issued a statement calling the Capitol riot a threat "to our country's democracy."

Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan has been accused of being the one who ordered the abandoning of Seattle’s East Precinct to rioters, which led to the creation of the CHAZ. She called the armed occupation of her city a "street fair" and famously said on CNN that the city could have a "summer of love."
This exchange actually happened on CNN about #CHAZ.......

Chris Cuomo: How long do you think Seattle in those few blocks looks like this?
Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan (D): I don't know. We could have the summer of love! pic.twitter.com/ApIDfMN9RD
Durkan even negotiated millions of dollars in payouts to the occupiers as well as transfers of city property. She finally ordered the dismantling of the CHAZ, not because of the multiple shootings and spiking crime, but because the mob vandalized her house.
The mayor who allowed Seattle’s East Precinct to be taken over by rioters and armed activists said during the Capitol riot "This is not an attack on a building; it is an attack on our Democracy, our fundamental American values, and the rule of law."
This is not an attack on a building; it is an attack on our Democracy, our fundamental American values, and the rule of law.
— Mayor Jenny Durkan (@MayorJenny) January 6, 2021
She then followed it up with "We will not tolerate any violence or destruction to our businesses and government."
Seattle will continue monitoring the situation closely. After the election, Seattle was peaceful, and we know our shared values of peace will prevail. We will not tolerate any violence or destruction to our businesses and government.
— Mayor Jenny Durkan (@MayorJenny) January 6, 2021
This is the same mayor who gave SPD officers a stand down order, to not arrest looters and are seen standing idly by destruction of storefronts in multiple videos of the riots downtown. The Mayor also banned weapons in the area by an emergency order, so small business owners were not allowed to defend their own livelihoods and watched them be destroyed by the mob.
Reinforcements for Seattle police did not arrive for serval hours after the riots began, causing many to question if city officials were truly committed to preventing the destruction.
Washington State Democrat Governor Jay Inslee issued a statement in response to the violence at the Capitol which said, "I revile these acts of sedition and intimidation that we have seen in our country today. I call on all elected leaders to condemn this."
This is the same Governor Inslee who claimed he did not know about an armed occupation in the state's largest city. "That's news to me" Inslee responded when asked about it a day after the autonomous zone was established.
Jay Inslee says he did know about #chop #chaz ?? LIAR ? @GovInslee @JayInslee maybe this will jar your selective memory pic.twitter.com/vYvSZNBq71
— Adam B on Gab: @Lifeisdriving (@lifeisdriving) October 8, 2020
The same Governor Inslee who would not send in the National Guard to dismantle the occupation even though staff was begging for it. The same Governor who sent unarmed National Guard troops to riots in downtown Seattle.
At the request of @CityofSeattle I have activated 200 members of the @WANationalGuard to help protect against property damage and manage crowds and traffic in downtown Seattle. They will be unarmed and work under the city's leadership. https://t.co/vCdbHzHA1h
— Governor Jay Inslee (@GovInslee) May 31, 2020
Though the National Guard was preparing to be present in Seattle for the foreseeable future, the governor reversed course and had the Guard units demobilize and allowed the city to be destroyed by riots and an armed occupation over the course of the summer. Additionally, both Durkan and Inslee demanded that federal officers sent to assist with the riots, leave the area.

Washington's elected officials either have selective memory, a mental disability of some kind or are flat out hypocrite liars.
